Sponsorship sessions and link outs
Delmania
Hello all, I'm looking for some information about sponsorship sessions (Patron,Campus) and link out URLs. According to several source, the sp parameter on the link out URL is supposed to transperantly log the user into Web2, but I am having no luck with this. I've looked for information on both the NSA Wiki and Cobalt Central, but nothing seems to answer the question. Does anyone have some experience with this? Thanks.

It's been a couple years, but I've done some things with sponsorship tokens and WAF. What specifically is your question regarding sponsorship tokens?
From what I recall, they allow you to map a value for the sp query string parameter to an underlying Westlaw (read: not OnePass) password. There is an admin tool to set these up, and there are various options you can have for the token.
Below is some information I pulled from an email from a while back on how to lookup a sponsorship token within the Admin tool:
1. Go to Westlaw.com Admin Site: (DEV)
-
http://admin.dev.westlaw.com
(QA)
-
http://admin.qa.westlaw.com
(PROD)
-
http://admin.int.westlaw.com
2. Select ‘Sponsorship Setup’
3. Enter management account information
4. Sponsorship Setup screen is displayed
5. Go to ‘Search for existing sponsorship by:’ dropdown box
6. Select ‘SP Parameter’
7. Go to ‘Search Terms:’ edit box
8. Enter sponsorship token, for example ‘amar-s10’
9. Go to ‘Also, please provide your name:’ edit box
10. Enter ‘{name, initials, etc}’
11. Select ‘Enter’ button
12. Go to ‘Westlaw Password:’ edit box
At the time I was talking to Doug Janey and Amarnath Indirala about it, as this was the only time I had worked with sponsorship tokens.

Ryan, thanks for the information. The problem that I am having is that, within the CI environment, when I login using the sponsorship and then click on a link out, I am prompted to enter in my Westlaw password. I've verified the Westlaw account under the sponsor is valid. My question, I guess, is really what does the link out URL need to look like in order to seamless login to Westlaw via a sponsorship?

Have you been able to get the sponsorship to work in any scenario? Different environments?
