What is a Composite Category Page?
John Martell
I have a story that is related to "composite" category pages. What is a composite category page? In what ways do they differ from other category pages? It is possible that the term "composite" was just the term used by the person creating the story, but it sounded like a good trivia question for this site.
Thanks

A composite category page is one that includes more than one content type. There is a difference in the configuration in CPET that defines page. Much like a global search, the initial results come back on an overview page (with a left bar that shows result counts and a right side with top results.)
If using existing content types, creating the page is all in the definition in CPET. Otherwise, from a search perspective, I believe that all you have to do is create your new content types.
I'm not an expert in this area, but I believe that I'm roughly correct. Maybe somebody else will chime in and offer more details or correct me on any details that I may be slightly off on.
