UberGUI site status: unknown

In UberGUI, I have seen various site status: UP (green), DRAINED (yellow), DOWN (red). But today, I saw a site status of UNKNOWN (gray).

What would cause an "unknown" site status in UberGUI? Is there someone I should contact to get it resolved? Is there any specific info for WLN vs. Shared Platform?

Unknown (apparently gray in SharedPlatform Ubergui--It is "orange" in WLN Ubergui) represents an inconsistency between the Big IP Pairs. BigIPs for each site are paired (primary and backup). When a command to drain or enable is sent from Ubergui, it is sent to all of the BigIP devices. If the request is not fully implemented on all devices then Ubergui will show the status as "Unknown" meaning there is an inconsistency across the devices.

To illustrate, if I drain a server and it was successful on the primary device but did not get implmented on the back up device it would show up as "Unknown". The server I just drained on the primary device but still in service on the backup device. Normally this is not an issue unless the BigIP would fail over to the backup device. If that were to happen, then a server that is supposed to be drained from service would actually still be in service.

Usually this can be fixed by issuing the drain or enable command again. However if there is a misconfiguration in ubergui it will take more investigation to rectify.
