SQL interface instead of Eikon excel
Dear All,
We would like to kindly ask you, whether we can access to market data (which the current Excel interface is linked) using SQL interface?
Our aim is to retrieve volumes and bids directly to a data table created in MS SQL to retrieve data against the current Excel.
The database connection generally consists of the following:
- database server name to connect
- username

There is no SQL-like API available to access Eikon data. Instead of Eikon Excel, you can utilize our Eikon Data API which provides access via Python. You can refer to this API within our Developer Portal.

Since you're using MS SQL Server, you may prefer Eikon .NET API, which also provides the capability to retrieve market data from Eikon. However, please bear in mind that Eikon is an end user terminal product, which licenses you to utilize any data you retrieve from Eikon for single user's individual use only. If you intend to utilize data directly or indirectly in any type of multi-user or enterprise application, you need to subscribe to one of Thomson Reuters enterprise products, which includes the license to utilize the data the way you intend.
