Hello @Jing.Zha

RFA7.2.1 cannot be found in API COMPATIBILITY MATRIX because it has been ended of life and no longer supported.

RFA7.2.1 should be compatible with higher RFA version like 7.6X and 8.x. The reason is SSL(Source Sink Library) connection/protocol used by Marketdata interfaces and RSSL(Reuters Source Sink Library) connection/protocol used by OMM interfaces of both versions are similar. Anyway, all investigation for any problems your client faces on RFA7.2.1 would be performed on the supported version (RFAJ7.6 or higher) only. Hence, we strongly recommend the client upgrades to the supported version.

If the client uses Marketdata interfaces(SSL connection which defaults port is 8101), we recommend he migrates to EMA(Elektron Message API) which is the strategic product and the long-term solution. Please refer to Why Migrate from RFA to EMA API? which shows how migrating from RFA Marketdata interfaces to EMA can simplify access to the data that the client requires, the benefits of EMA and where he can find the resources to help he migrate. For more details of EMA e.g. Overview, Quick Start, Documentation, Downloads, Tutorials, the client can find in Elektron SDK – Java Page.

Hope this help.

Many thanks @Pimchaya.Wongrukun !

Regarding to JDK 1.8, could you please help confirm whether RFA7.2.1 is compatible with JDK1.8? My client mentioned they encountered issue when upgrade Java version to 1.8.

Thanks.

Hello @Jing.Zha

According to README shipped with the RFA7.2.1 package, at section 4. INTEROPERABILITY mentioned the supported Java is JDK 1.6 and 1.7. Hence, RFA7.2.1 is not compatible with JDK1.8. If the client would like to use JDK1.8, he should:

  • upgrade to RFA8 if OMM interface is used.
  • migrate to EMA if Marketdata interface is used.
