Python DSWS. Without knowing beginning date

If I know the beginning date, then it is easy. But how can I do it when I don't know the beginning date ? I am pulling many hundreds fields without knowing the beginning date. Basically, I want to retrieve from the beginning date to up to date. Thx

BDATE retrieves the BASE DATE for the series
