The Japanese PPP for GDP series aJPOAPPPGR is an annual release so the only interval supported is "yearly" ...

req = ek.get_timeseries(["aJPOAPPPGR"], fields="VALUE", start_date = "2017-12-31", end_date = "2018-12-31", interval="yearly") req
