Is Datastream code (DSCD) a unique and permanent identifier?

Will datastream code (DSCD) change after a company is dead or changes its name or merges with other companies? And is DSCD unique for each instrument?

I found the "Datastream – coping with name changes" article on the Business Research Plus website. It explains changes in the Datastream codes regarding mergers and demergers.

However, you need to contact the Refinitiv Datastream support team directly via MyRefinitiv to confirm it.
