Can Eikon Data API be used without the Eikon desktop app running in the background?

Hi @Alex.Conti

Unfortunately not, this is not possible.

You can access much of the Eikon data via the RDP APIs as well - which can connect to our cloud-based Refinitiv Data Platform and therefore does not require a local Eikon instance.

Please feel free to discuss and explore the RDP offering with your Refinitiv Representative to confirm if it would provide the required data/content sets you are interested in.

Cannot, the Eikon application (or Refinitiv Workspace) must be running when you use the Eikon Data API Python library.

you may check the quick start guide for more detail.
