What property of a Novus object dictates which site the request will be sent to?

To ensure site alignment, we need to make sure that when we invoke a Novus service, that the Novus object was properly initialized to go to the correct site. What property should be set on the Novus object (from the Novus client jar) after its instantiation to ensure that proper site alignment occurs?
