Sporadic "bad" result handles from Novus?
Joshua Krebs
We are having an issue with search results from Novus. In particular, occasionally we end up with a result handle that will have a document in it where metadata retrieval will fail (with a novus 4101 error).
If we throw away that result handle and re-run the same query and get the same results, the document meta-data retrieval succeeds on all documents.
If we get a "bad" result handle, the same document in that list will ALWAYS fail until we run a new search.
Has anyone run into a similar issue? Can anyone provide some insight?

We discovered the problem to be in the Novus api. Essentially some CCI cleanup settings on a collection which loaded frequently was causing PIT records to become invalid very quickly (sometimes less then 5 minutes).
The solution we currently have in place is a workaround that just re-runs the search if we encounter the error. There is a bug fix/enhancement planned for a future Novus release to prevent this from happening.
