I was just curious about this. I wanted to know what are the possible reasons why rsslPing can fail. Also what should we do regarding this. Like is it good to disconnect and reconnect?

Please the the RsslPing return values, as mentioned in the ETA Developer Guide.
If it returns RSSL_RET_FAILURE, you can close the channel and then reconnect back to the server. You need to check the RsslError content for the error code.
