Trying to connect Eikon using Eikon API, but get an error

I am trying to connect to Eikon API on my desktop (Eikon Desktop is on the remote desktop).

Here is the error I get:"raise EikonError(-1, 'Port number was not identified. Check if Eikon Desktop or Eikon API Proxy is running.')"

Is there a method to collect data without Eikon Desktop?

What if I am running Eikon Desktop on the same machine and get the same error? What can I do?
