Equity search - inactive RICs

Hi, we are looking up RIC per ISIN in this example for FR0000131708. We expect the RIC to be "TCHp.CHI". We not tried the DSS search request with asset status active and got no result. That is ok since the RIC was only valid till 17-JAN-2017. We removed the asset status filter and got more results. One of them has the following RIC "TECp.CHI^A17" that is pretty close to what we are expecting. But the part of the RIC after the ^ character is not matching our expectations. We tried to load that RIC in the old TRTH web UI and are told it is invalid.

Can you please help? Is the RIC part after the ^ character just a marker? How can we find historical RICs for this ISIN, we have also tried historical instrument search request but we need a request what is either allowing exchange code and currency as input filter or as fields in the response output (so we can filter on our side). Any help is highly appreciated.

The "TCHp.CHI^A17" is a delisted RIC, because the "TCHp.CHI" was removed (delisted) from exchange on 17 Jan 2017. (https://my.thomsonreuters.com/MTRFRICDetailNotification?id=a2P40000001AkTmEAK)

When a RIC is delisted by an exchange, the RIC itself usually changes and a Delisted RIC Syntax gets added. This makes it easier to spot delisted RICs as well as make the original RIC available for reuse.

The Delisted RIC Syntax consists of a ^after the original RIC followed by a month code and a year code that signifies when the RIC was actually delisted. Example:

RIC ABC.L is delisted in January 2002. Once the Delisted RIC Syntax is added the RIC changes to ABC.L^A02. (A = January, B= February, C= March and so on. and 02 signifies 2002).

Hi Phillip,

If you are focusing on TRTH migration to Version 2, I recommend posting these types of questions on the TRTH v2 Q&A forum. That might get attention of people who are subject matter experts in the content. Hope this helps.
