Why the news has a "replacement" character in output after RFA decoding?

We are encountering issue in displaying the content of news "nL4N1MQ0NB"

There is a "replacement" character in the news "nL4N1MQ0NB" output after RFA decoding. That seems a character from head-end that RFA unable to decode. Please investigate.

Hello @hlai

The data content support team informs that the News 2K data feed (N2_UBMS and PNACs) that the client is subscribing news data is a legacy data source. It will be retired and end of life soon, the news data team cannot commit a fix to this issue on this feed.

I suggested you upgrade the application to subscribe news data source to MRN via the OMM interface with Elektron SDK instead. You can find more detail regarding the MRN and Elektron SDK via the following links

Hello @hlai

Could you please give us more details to investigate this issue?

  • Does the problem occurs with RFA Java or C++ or .Net?
  • The version of RFA that encounters the problem
  • Does the application use OMM or MarketData interface?
  • The RFA trace file with hex level when the problem occurs
  • A snippet application code that parse incoming data
