tick loss with SSL4.0 API

Hi,

We are using EMS service for our applications. Couple of weeks back there was network congestion observed (1~2sec) on EMS side and "rrcp congestion" messages were logged in ADS. It was later confirmed by Reuters that there was no packet loss in the EMS environment. However, one of our apps developed using SSL4.0 API lost ticks for some instruments during the congestion event.

How does the SSL API handle 'rrcp congestion' type events? What messages are received by the API during such events? The SSL API4.0 is very old but any help or pointers are appreciated.

Thank you

There is no 'rrcp congestion' type event in SSL API 4.0.

If TREP is unable to distribute the data due to congestion, it should send STATUS_STALE event to the subscriber in order to indicate that the data stream is now in the STALE state. Therefore, the subscriber will not use this STALE data for processing.

However, it is better to confirm this with TREP support team. You can contact TREP support team by using Contact Us.

@jirapongse, Thank you for the reply. Is there a SSL 4.0 API document available, can you check please?

There are developer guide and reference guide available in the SSL 4.0 package.

@Jirapongse, unfortunately the developer & reference guides are not available in our system, may have been removed or deleted. Would you be able to find a copy and attach it here? Thank you

@NWM

SSL 4.0 has been End of Life since 2009. I'm afraid we no longer keep the package on the download site, and we cannot attach it here either.

You should consider migrating to Elektron API.
