Where does the ODPS get its Lock/PE information when it performs a subscriptionTest. Does it actually request the item from an ADS and extract the lock, or does it use Web Services and have the DACS Station perform the subscription test?

Typically you will provide the Lock/PE. Or, if you have it enabled so that ODPS can talk to a ADS, it will get the Lock from ADS but you (the application) have to tell ODPS to “get the lock” [it’s in the manual]. Don’t expect great performance if you want ODPS get the lock. For best performance you want the application to pass the Lock/PE to ODPS.
