500 Internal Server Error

Hello,

for over a week I am experiencing 500 internal error messages for larger queries.
This is only valid for timeseries requests for all other requests this issue does not occur.
It is not a solution to split up the query in smaller queries as this is part of a much larger sequence of queries.

kind regards,

Laurens

Hi @laurens

The ek.get_timeseries can handle at most 300 identifiers.

So you have to split the RIC list.

In your API call, you passed in 600 instruments so you ran into the error.

Thanks a lot for your reply.

I will definitely try this. I am however a bit surprised as this is not mentioned in the Eikon Data API Usage and Limits Guideline over here:

https://developers.refinitiv.com/eikon-apis/eikon-data-api/docs?content=49692&type=documentation_item

Where the following is only mentioned:

get_timeseries: The current limit value (10-Oct-2019) is 3,000 data points (rows) for interday intervals and 50,000 data points for intraday intervals. This limit applies to the whole request, whatever the number of requested instrument.

the amount of requested rows for these 600 instrument equals 3000, which should be in line with these limitations.

Hi @laurens

It is not a limitation on the API but from the backend component.

I believe that is why it is not documented on the API.
