Company PermIDs Changing Over Time

Hi,

I've noticed that some companies have PermIDs (OrgPermIDs) that change over time, with the metadata (the knowledge graph, the linked stock quote) being migrated from one to the other. There doesn't appear to be any obvious reason why this occurs, could I please get some product specialist insight into why and when this happens?

It is troublesome to monitor these changes over time, is there a notification channel or other way that these alterations can be broadcast as they happen?

Here are some examples of companies that have had changes in their main OrgPermID (with most of the earlier ones now resting as stub records):

as you can see, those are not the same companies. PermID cannot be changed for an organization, it stays permanent (that is why we call it PERM ID). Instruments can move between organizations, as companies change its status, getting acquired or merged.

Thank you for this investigation Aleksandra. I see that instruments can move between orgs so I'll likely have to monitor this from my side.
