This is my first time importing eikon package in python.

when I set_app_key, it returned below error. I'm now opening eikon desktop as well. can you help.

First, you need to make sure that the Eikon desktop and API proxy are running properly. Please refer to the Eikon Data API and Refinitiv Data Library - Troubleshooting article. Please share the screenshots and log files mentioned on the article.
