I am now a legacy Eikon user. We switch to Workspace soon. I'd like to automate downloads of some data using your API. It looks like you have python libraries eikon, refinitiv.data, and lseg.data. Is one of these libraries preferred? Also, is there a way to use your API without logging into the desktop application? This would make it easier to download data overnight. Thank you.

LSEG Data library is the one to be used. If you are subscribed to Data Platform (RDP), then you can use Platform session, which allows the application to be run from a cloud environment and download data etc without logging into the local Workspace app.

That's promising, but we aren't sure what version of Workspace the office purchased previously. Can you send an example code that would work if we are subscribed to Data Platform? Appreciate it!

You can see the examples in this GitHub repo. Basically all the examples can work with Desktop (Workspace) or Platform session depending on the products you are permissioned in RDP.
