Why does the LSEG Workspace “Company Tree Structure” Excel export fail for some companies?

I am using the “Company Tree Structure” feature within LSEG Workspace to export group hierarchy data into Excel. While the download works as expected for many companies, it consistently fails or gets stuck in a loading state for a subset of both public and private companies.

This issue persists regardless of the account being used or the company being searched. I have tried the following troubleshooting steps:

• Attempted downloads across different LSEG Workspace accounts
• Tested with both public and private company profiles
• Tried multiple browsers (Chrome, Edge) and cleared cache
• Used incognito/private browsing modes
• Changed network environments
• Allowed extended wait times for downloads to complete

Despite these efforts, the Excel download does not complete and remains indefinitely on the loading screen for affected companies. Interestingly, the issue is not limited to large companies or complex group structures, as it also occurs with smaller organizations.

For some companies, the PDF export of the tree structure does work, but this format is not suitable for automated processing.

I would like to understand the cause of this issue and whether there is:

1. A known limitation or ongoing issue related to the Excel export of tree structures
2. An API alternative (e.g., through Refinitiv Data Platform or LSEG APIs) that can provide this corporate hierarchy programmatically
3. Any workaround or best practice to avoid this issue and retrieve tree structure data reliably

I would appreciate any guidance, updates, or references to documentation or known issues.
