Download definition of variables API python

I am downloading the company fundamentals (Balance sheet and Income statement variables) for some companies. I want to download the definition of the variables as well.

For example for "total debt", the long definition is "Represents total debt outstanding, which includes: Notes Payable/Short-Term Debt, Current Portion of Long-Term Debt/Capital Leases and Total Long-Term Debt." How can I get this?

This a simple example of my code.

df, e = ek.get_data('KAER.VI',['TR.TotalDebtOutstanding'], {'SDate': '2020-01-01', 'EDate': '2022-12-31', "Period": "FQ0", 'Frq': 'FQ'})

Hi @carlosgk

For content-based questions, it is best to go through the Refinitiv Workspace Helpdesk ("Get Help & Support" (F1 - function key)). They can involve a content specialist who can advise which properties you require.

To get a list of variables, you can use the DIB (Data Item Browser) within the desktop. Taking your example, you can also list out the specific dates, i.e.

df, e = ek.get_data('KAER.VI',['TR.TotalDebtOutstanding', 'TR.TotalDebtOutstanding.date'],
                    {'SDate': '2020-01-01', 'EDate': '2022-12-31',
                     "Period": "FQ0", 'Frq': 'FQ'})
