Hong Kong is a region or country by WC?

Hi Forum,

Could you please clarify whether Hong Kong and Taiwan are classified as regions or countries in the World Check database when using the API?

Hi @melvin - thank you for your question!

The World-Check One API uses the standard ISO 3166-1 alpha-3 which defines codes for the names of countries, dependent territories, and special areas of geographical interest. Both Hong Kong and Taiwan are included in this standard and are showcased in the API Get the ISO country list endpoint as so: 

"HKG": "Hong Kong",
"TWN": "Taiwan, Province of China"
