DSS connection got timeout

Hi all,

One of my clients have encountered the following error when connecting to DSS.

java.net.SocketException: Software caused connection abort: recv failed at java.net.SocketInputStream.socketRead0(Native Method) at java.net.SocketInputStream.read(Unknown Source) at java.net.SocketInputStream.read(Unknown Source) at sun.security.ssl.InputRecord.readFully(Unknown Source) at sun.security.ssl.InputRecord.read(Unknown Source) at sun.security.ssl.SSLSocketImpl.readRecord(Unknown Source) at sun.security.ssl.SSLSocketImpl.performInitialHandshake(Unknown Source) at sun.security.ssl.SSLSocketImpl.startHandshake(Unknown Source) at sun.security.ssl.SSLSocketImpl.startHandshake(Unknown Source) at org.apache.http.conn.ssl.SSLConnectionSocketFactory.createLayeredSocket(SSLConnectionSocketFactory.java:394) at org.apache.http.conn.ssl.SSLConnectionSocketFactory.connectSocket(SSLConnectionSocketFactory.java:353) at org.apache.http.impl.conn.DefaultHttpClientConnectionOperator.connect(DefaultHttpClientConnectionOperator.java:141) at org.apache.http.impl.conn.PoolingHttpClientConnectionManager.connect(PoolingHttpClientConnectionManager.java:353) at org.apache.http.impl.execchain.MainClientExec.establishRoute(MainClientExec.java:380) at org.apache.http.impl.execchain.MainClientExec.execute(MainClientExec.java:236) at org.apache.http.impl.execchain.ProtocolExec.execute(ProtocolExec.java:184) at org.apache.http.impl.execchain.RetryExec.execute(RetryExec.java:88) at org.apache.http.impl.execchain.RedirectExec.execute(RedirectExec.java:110) at org.apache.http.impl.client.InternalHttpClient.doExecute(InternalHttpClient.java:184) at org.apache.http.impl.client.CloseableHttpClient.execute(CloseableHttpClient.java:82) at org.apache.http.impl.client.CloseableHttpClient.execute(CloseableHttpClient.java:107) at skb.reuter.service.GwService.login(GwService.java:129) at skb.reuter.service.GwService.main(GwService.java:67)

I am looking into the case and suspect the connection might be killed by firewall after timeout.

This case is still under estimating if it is really the root cause.

However, may I know the suggested timeout for connection to DSS through API? I can't find any reference on the DSS API help page.

@Zhen Yi.Li

According to the DSS Help - Key Mechanisms - Async page, the Thomson Reuters firewalls will disconnect the idle request which takes more than 25 minutes.
