Eikon API proxy Download

Hi all,

Understanding that the proxy is now integrated into the Eikon application, is it still possible to download the standalone proxy app? I run a couple of Python models, and don't necessarily need the overhead of the full Eikon app.

Thanks,

Nick

@nickzane Unfortunately not, the proxy is currently available as a standalone app only for MacOs.

To answer your question, Eikon API Proxy is not a Python package. It cannot be installed using pip or conda. It is also no longer available as a standalone package. It can only be installed and used as part of Eikon or Refinitiv Workspace applications. In other words, if you'd like to use Eikon Data APIs in Python scripts running on your machine, you need to have Eikon or Refinitiv Workspace application installed and running on that machine. You may also want to consider using Codebook, which is a Jupyter Lab hosted and managed by Refinitiv, and which you can access through the browser versions of Eikon or Refinitiv Workspace, thus eliminating the need to have those desktop applications installed. You would still need to have an active Eikon or Refinitiv Workspace account.
