When using permid.org, is it possible to ascertain the relations between different companies? For instance a company might be the subsidiary of another one, but in PermID they appear completely disjoint. Is there a way in PermID, or in another API, to understand relationship?

From my checking, PermID doesn't maintain this kind of relationship. I will contact the Open PermID team for confirmation.
Other APIs that can get this relationship could be Eikon Data API and DataScope Select - REST API. For more information, please refer to these discussions:
I got a confirmation from the Open PermId team that relationships between organizations are not currently supported in PermID.org.
