As outlined in the Concepts Guide, section 3.2.8 Private Streams:

Using a Private Stream, a consumer application can create a virtual private connection with an interactive provider. This virtual private

connection can be either a direct connection, through the Refinitiv Real-Time Distribution System, or via a cascaded set of platforms.
