Unable to Locate App Key/ RDP API Credentials in Neither Developer Portal nor Workspace key App

Hello:

Then I’m trying to integrate the Refinitiv Data Platform (RDP) API into my automation workflow, but I’m unable to locate or create the required OAuth2 credentials (Client ID/Client Secret or App Key) in the Developer Portal.

First I tried apply under Workspace key generator, it's empty.

Then I did:

  1. Signed in at here
  2. Navigated to APIs → Refinitiv Data Platform APIs and reviewed the Quickstart guide.
  3. Checked Developer Tools dropdown, then See all Tools, and browsed the Tools Catalog—however, I cannot find an “App Key Generator,” “My Apps,” or any page to create/manage my application credentials.

What I need:

  • A direct link or instructions to access the portal page where I can create and view my RDP application credentials (Client ID & Client Secret, or App Key).
  • Confirmation that my account has the necessary entitlements (e.g. News Service) enabled, or guidance on how to request/activate them.

Could anyone please:

  1. Confirm whether my account has been granted RDP API access.
  2. Provide the exact URL or navigation steps to the “App Key Generator” (or equivalent) page.
  3. Advise if any additional steps (e.g. contacting an account manager) are required to enable and retrieve my credentials.

Thank you for your assistance. I look forward to your guidance so I can proceed with the integration.

Best regards,

    @black88

Thank you for reaching out to us.

You may refer to this Getting Started with Refinitiv Data Platform article.

Yes, you need to contact your LSEG account team or sales team to verify if your account supports Client ID/Client Secret or App Key.

  • Hello @black88

Did you contact your LSEG Representative or Account Manager or Sale Representative about this? If you have registered the RDP APIs account, you should get a set of Welcome Emails from LSEG/Refinitiv.

If not (contact them or receive welcome emails), I strongly suggest you contact your LSEG Representative or Account Manager or Sale Representative to let them know that you want to use the RDP API.

You can find more detail from this Getting Start with Data Platform article.

Once you have Welcome Email(s), you should have your RDP human-id (email) account to access the RDP API Playground page (https://apidocs.refinitiv.com/Apps/ApiDocs ) page. Then you can access the App-Key Generator website from the link on the Playground page.

And you should have another Welcome Email with the Machine-ID account (example GE-A-01234560-1-1234) for using the API programmatically.

    I hope this helps.
