API - upgrading from Eikon to WS

Can you please fill me in on how to get the Desktop API to work with LSEG workspace, and how I could get an account to develop with/against? Additionally, based on this:
https://developers.lseg.com/en/product/workspace-upgrade/custom_application_com_api_upgrade  and this: https://developers.lseg.com/en/api-catalog/refinitiv-data-platform/refinitiv-data-library-for--net.
Sounds like users will need to use Refinitiv Data Library instead of what we’re currently doing, which I believe it using COM. Can someone confirm this is correct?

@daniela.munoz

Thank you for reaching out.

As far as I know, LSEG Workspace will not provide COM APIs.

Refinitiv Data Libraries support Python, .NET, and TypeScript. You can also refer to this Migrating COM API calls to Python article.

Hello @daniela.munoz

While my colleague already gave you a clear answer, there is also the LSEG Data Library for Python which is the version 2 of the Refinitiv Data Library for Python.

You may consider migrate to this new LSEG Data Library instead.

  • PyPI: https://pypi.org/project/lseg-data/
  • GitHub: https://github.com/LSEG-API-Samples/Example.DataLibrary.Python/tree/lseg-data-examples

Note: The Refinitiv Data Library for Python is still supported.
