Firstly, The oldest version of RFA Java we support is 7.7.x - Downloads | Refinitiv Developers

In terms of your VM question, Clients may try to run products on other versions of platforms/os (e.g. RFA Java/SSL or RFA Java/OMM which is a pure Java solution) but any issues must be reproduced by the client on one of the supported platforms - as listed in the API Compatibility matrix document - Documentation | Refinitiv Developers
