After sending Item Request, we get the Item Response followed by Item Update, right? How long will we keep getting the Item Update for a specific Item, assuming we are not sending close item yet. Is there a time limit or item expiry?

There is no specific time limit. The stream will remain open until you close (or stop sending pongs) it and updates will be sent when market conditions change.
