RFA VS2017 and Windows Server 2016 support

Options

Hi I hope someone can help with these two queries

1) What is the support plan for RFA (8.1) C++ for VS2017? VS2017 is supported for EMA in the Compatibility Matrix, but as the advice states, RFA is not a required upgrade and EMA is only for new applications or those looking for performance improvements. Please also note in the webinar https://developers.refinitiv.com/content/why-migrate-rfa-ema-api-0 the narrator talking through Slide 9 about RFA states “support for bug fixes and new versions of compilers will remain in place”.

2) What is the support plan for RFA 8.1 (Java, C++ and .NET) running on Windows Server 2016?

Thank you

Scott

    Hi Scott,

We will include 32bit Libraries in the upcoming RFA release that will be qualified on VS 2017. We will also cover support for Win Server 2016 and will update the compatibility Matrix to reflect this.

Our target is the end of this month for the release.

    Thanks

    @Scott Wilson

    We will
support VS2017 for RFA C++ in the next release due in May.

    We have no
current plans for Windows Server 2016.

Thanks Jirapongse for getting back to me

For my reference as well, what is the timeline for RFA End of Life/End of Support ?

Is that why you have no plans to support RFA on Windows Server 2016 because it is soon to be marked EOL?

    Thanks again

Can you also please confirm if the RFA C++ release in May will include the 32bit RFA libraries for VS2017 as well?

    Thanks

    Thanks again
