How to get exchange symbols for EEX instruments?

Usually a RIC has a PROV_SYMB (field #3422) that essentially maps the RIC to the instrument's more general trading symbol, which can be used for a variety of purposes. However, it seems that instruments that trade on exchange EEX do not have a PROV_SYMB.

For example, rics FDBQV7 (an EEX Italian Base Load Load Monthly Energy Future), FDBMH7 (an EEX Italian Base Load Load Monthly Energy Future), and FDBFY8 (an EEX Italian Base Load Yearly Energy Future) have empty PROV_SYMB fields.

Is there a trick to getting the PROV_SYMB for EEX instruments? Should some other field besides PROV_SYMB be used for EEX instruments?

The data that you see on the exchange RICs is usually controlled by the exchange themselves, so the only way to get exactly what you want is to request the addition of this data by contacting your local Thomson Reuters Support Desk +1 800 738-8377
