Question by nick.zincone.1 · May 19, 2017 at 02:51 PM · eikon scripting proxydata item browserload

Parameter value within the Eikon Proxy Data Item Browser doesn't load

Following tutorial 2 within the Eikon Scripting API, the tutorial suggests to find out more information within Data Item Browser. In doing so, I pulled up the specific function TR.IssuerRating that is referenced within the tutorial and noticed one of the parameters doesn't completely load. As a result, I am unable to understand the available details for this specific parameter.

Hi @nick.zincone.1 - you need to put an instrument in to see a list of appropriate ratings sources. I tried for example with Vodafone and then then Issuer Ratings Source was populated with those agencies providing ratings for that entity.

Thanks @jason.ramchandani. This is a great feature to have contextual help. I would imagine there are likely many parameters throughout the many functions that behave like this. It would be nice to somehow provide some clue to the user to provide a symbol as opposed to the phrase "Loading". Perhaps, "Provide a symbol" or something similar.
