Trouble installing python library for Eikon Data API
I am using python 3.9.2 version and eikon 4.0. I am trying to enable Eikon Data API for python and on trying to install the python library using 'pip install eikon', I am getting the following error messages stating 'Could not find a version that satisfies the requirement eikon', 'No matching distribution found for eikon'. Altough it says that any version above python 3.5 or higher is appropriate, Why am I getting such error? How can I fix it?

According to the error message (time out), it looks like to be network issues. The library is available on the Python Package Index (PyPI) repository (https://pypi.org/project/eikon/).
You need to contact your local IT support team to verify the network settings.

Hi @donia.augustine,
Please pip install the RD Lib. with
pip install refinitiv-data
You can find details about this new library here. Please also note that you can still use old eikon functions, at the mement, within the RD Lib. as shown here. These will be deprecated in the next year/few years, so I would advise using Access, Content or Delivery functions instead (in that order, preferably).
The RD Lib. will work in Desktop Session with the Eikon Desktop Application and/or the Workspace Desktop Application, as outlined here.0 -

I tried using pip install refinitiv-data, but the issue remains the same. Also other libraries like pandas and numpy are working fine.

Hi @donia.augustine , Thank you for your reply. I was wondering, are you able to pip install any other library right now? I am aware that previously installed libraries might be working fine, but I was wondering if a new library of any kind could be installed; say DatastreamPy?
