What operating system is RFA C++ API version 7.6.2 supported on? I have looked at the compatibility guide and Windows 2012 is not listed (although there are some details in the release notes) Please provide details for both Windows server 2012 and Windows server 2016.

    Hi @mike.ford

Is this for the 32bit non OMM usage or for the 64bit OMM usage?

The 7.6.2.E4 release has been tested with the following Windows Servers editions:

    - Windows Server 2012 Standard Edition 64-bit (OMM Only)
    - Windows Server 2008 Enterprise Edition (SP2) 32-bit
    - Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise Edition (SP1) 64-bit (OMM only)

For Server 2016 support you would have to use RFA v8.1.1 with OMM.

it is certainly 32bit libraries, how do I tell OMM/non OMM?

  • Hi @mike.ford

What connection types are you using in your application - check your config files if not sure?

If you are using RSSL type connections then this indicates OMM data

If you are using SSLED, SASS3 type connections then this is non-OMM

Looking at the registry we are using SSLED.

If you wish to migrate your old apps to newer OS, then you would need to convert your applications to using OMM / RSSL connectivity.

If you do decide to explore this, then I would recommend you consider using our newer Elektron Message API - which is part of the Elektron SDK.

The Elektron Message API is an ease of use API - the time to learn and code required to implement a solution is much simpler then the RFA OMM alternative.

You can refer to the following EMA tutorials to get an overview of the API.
