Forex: EURCHF= via API

Dear Refinitiv team, We’re looking to get FX data via restful API (only for EURCHF=, bid and ask of which we’ll take the median). In other words, we want to know which of your API simply returns the real-time exchange rate of a currency pair. Next question: how can we make calls to this API? Many thanks, Lukas

    Hi @lukas.wissner,

    Eikon does not provide a REST interface to data, but you can use the Refinitiv Data Library for Python or .NET to get the current price for this instrument. These libraries are quite easy to use, but they require a local Eikon/Workspace instance on that machine.

    You also have an option to use CodeBook - a cloud hosted version of Jupyter notebook, which can be accessed from within Eikon/Workspace by typing in CODEBK in the search bar.

    There are other products like Refinitiv Data Platform which provide a REST interface to the data. There is also RTO, which can provide a realtime streaming/snapshot data for this instrument, but uses a WebSocket interface instead. Please talk to your Refinitiv account manager, if you are interested in these products.

    Hi Gupreet, we're Eikon subscribers since 2016 and are interested in the simplest product: simple API call, simple API response, no rocket science, just the current EURCHF= RIC
