Impact of TREP Template Service Pack release

Dear support,

Today our bank have received notification about TREP Template Service Pack 4.20.2 (Load ID 4.20.40_TREP_20.21.service_pack.rrg) now available in My Refinitiv. Since currently we are using TREP to retrieve real-time data through RFA call, also using Eikon/FXT to perform trading activity, would this service pack cause any impact to us? Please clarify.

In general, data notification notices from Refinitiv do not require an action from an application owner.

This is something for the application owner to be aware of.

When your local TREP is updated with the latest templates, which is planned and communicated by local market data administrator or group, then will an application that is connecting to TREP potentially be a subject to this change.

The most common situation is when new fields become available, there may be updated or additional enumerated values for the existent fields, a complete application may take advantage of this additional content, this can be planned for a convenient time. This is much less common then a new application being designed with new available content in mind. This is the primary use case- for the new applications.

Sometimes the fields go out of use, or are moved to a more descriptive field, higher precision field, or the structure of the info populated is being changed/improved, this is rare to happen, the content creators work on having this happen at a minimum, and data notification will contain the information that is relevant.
