Why have I got this error message:

“Access suspended due to monthly data allowance exceeded. Please contact your account representative” ?

What can I do about this, how can I avoid it ?

Hello @Akechi Sato,

This type of error occurs because access to Datastream Web Service (DSWS) for Desktop use has a data usage cap of 10 million data points (Series x datatypes x historical values) per month.

You can do the following:

  • Review your usage on regular basis, so you are aware how many data points have been already used. You can find more information on how to check you usage stats here.
  • If you need more data via the DSWS tool then a product upgrade can be done via the account manager.

@Monika.Stankovic,

So if I understand correctly I went over 10 million datapoints this month ?

Does this impact my DFO or Eikon access ?

    @Akechi Sato

    To answer your questions:

    • Yes, you have understood correctly.
    • No, only access to DSWS will be unavailable until the next month.
